Age Calculator

Your exact age in years, months and days

Enter your date of birth to get your exact age — down to the day — plus the total number of days and weeks you've been alive.

How age is calculated

We compare your birth date to today, accounting for months of different lengths and leap years, to give your precise age in years, months and days. Change the date to find anyone's age, or the age on a past or future birthday.

Why "years" alone isn't precise

Your age in whole years only changes once a year, but the exact figure shifts every day. Counting in years, months and days — and in total days and weeks — matters for things like baby milestones, age-based medication dosing, visa and pension eligibility dates, and any rule that hinges on an exact cutoff.

Leap years and birthday quirks

Leap days (February 29) are included in the total-days figure, which is why your age in days isn't simply years × 365. People born on February 29 are commonly treated as aging on February 28 or March 1 in non-leap years for legal purposes — but the day count here is always exact.

Age Calculator: frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my exact age?

Subtract your birth date from today's date, carefully accounting for varying month lengths and leap years — which this calculator does automatically.

Can I find my age on a specific date?

This tool calculates age as of today. Your total days and weeks update live as you change the birth date.

How many days old am I?

Enter your birth date and the calculator shows your total days lived — your age in years won't equal days ÷ 365 exactly, because leap years add an extra day roughly every four years.
