Building a gravel driveway, path or drain? Enter your dimensions to get the volume in cubic yards and the weight in tons — the two ways gravel is sold.

How much gravel do I need?

Gravel coverage is area × depth. Driveways typically use 2–4 inches per layer over a thicker base. We add 10% for compaction and spreading.

Tons vs. cubic yards

Most crushed stone weighs about 1.4 tons per cubic yard. We estimate tons using ~105 lb/ft³.
